Dermalogica
Dermalogica has been one of the leading skin care products that most women are using. For 25 years and counting, Dermalogica has dedicated its quality skin care results through teachings, improvement and professional recommendations instead of excessive promos and advertising with promises that couldn’t live up to their expectations.
Dermalogica was founded by Jane Wurwand during 1986 in the US. She was a trained skin therapist from UK with a determination to share her knowledge in skin care. It was during that time that she opened a small classroom called IDI (The International Dermal Institute) located in Marina del Rey, California. Here, she trained licensed skin therapists to have a hands-on post graduate training to enhance their skills in this business. Now, IDI is known for its international gold-standard in post graduate skin therapy training with 40 other branches worldwide.
While Jane was teaching in IDI, it didn’t take much time before she developed her own line that embraces ‘beauty’ through a health perspective, thus Dermalogica was born.
Dermalogica’s mission to set standard skin care based on health made this brand unlike any other. Now, Dermalogica is branching out to 50 other countries outside US delivering their vision of beauty.
Dermalogica is also well-known for its quality skin care results. In the third installment of Twilight, Eclipse was filmed in Vancouver Canada. The chief make-up artist suddenly called out for an emergency to order Dermalogica PreCleanse. This product is a light weight cleansing oil that gently removes oil-based fragments from the skin without a greasy after feel. For the 25 vampires in the set, Dermalogica PreCleanse saved their skin from heavy make-up without resulting to harsh cleansing and rubbing.
Dermalogica gathered attention from several awards as well. Harper’s Bazaar, Australian Women’s Weekly and Cosmopolitan favored Dermalogica as their “Favorite Skin Treatment Brand” in 2009. Dermalogica also got the runner up position as a “Favorite Skin Cleanser Brand”.
