Dr. Hauschka’s Organic line started in 1967. His holistic approach to skin care is the secret to his ongoing success for over 40 years now. Dr. Rudolf Hauschka’s inspiration for its plant based products came from Dr. Steiner’s philosophy. Dr. Steiner’s philosophy revolved around the concept of Nature’s polarities and creating a stable organic line -- without any synthetic ingredients. Thus, the practice of their company’s holistic pharmaceutical method called WALA Heilmittel began. WALA (warmth, ash, light and ash) Heimittel (means ‘remedy in German) is Hauschka’s distinctive rhythmical process in creating his line of beauty products.

During this period, Elisabeth Sigmund was also in the process of transitioning skin care in her clinic in Sweden. Sigmund acknowledged that skin health and physical appearance is due to internal health and emotional factors. Her vision of a healthy skin was derived from Antrhoposophy and traditional medicinal healing. She created a skin care treatment designed to optimize health and revitalize beauty. So, she got some of these healing treatments from WALA Heilmittel. It was during this time that Dr. Hauschka asked for Sigmund to join his team in WALA Germany.
