In the 1970’s, John Masters got his big break as a talent in Miami and New York in cutting and coloring hair. It was during the 80’s that his talent is well-acknowledged by major fashion and celebrity circles. Along with this, his fascination in working with organics grew. He began to realize that salon chemicals will pose health risks especially on a daily basis, thus his commitment to producing non-toxic products. He visited clients in his apartment in NY and used ammonia-free organic and clay based dyes. John Masters experimented with these to create a non-toxic hair product that’s safe for his clients and environment.

Dry Hair Nourishment and Defrizzer were the first line of organic products that John Masters made in 1991. Through continuous research and testing of botanical oils, plant extracts and other food staples created a wider collection of products. John Master’s Organics was the first extensive and luxurious hair care product that’s used by many. Its growing popularity led to the attraction of many clienteles that became health conscious, thus opening his first Soho salon in 1994. The progress from this period onwards paved way for more clients to appreciate the natural way to achieving beauty.
