L’OCCITANE

L'occitane Skincare ProductsL’OCCITANE started in 1976 in Haute-Provence, a province in southern France located between the Mediterranean and Alps. Olivier Baussan, the founder of L’OCCITANE, marked the start of its story. For more than 30 years, Provence has been the inspiration behind L’OCCITANE’s line of beauty products. Its unspoiled land and well-bound tradition has been the secret to their product’s success. Even up to now, L’OCCITANE’s products are still relying on the small town of Manosque.

L’OCCITANE’s skin care line draws inspiration from the Mediterranean art de vivre and other conventional methods in Provencal. Its continuous focus in the authenticity of their products, L’OCCITANE never fails to set rigorous standards on its quality. Behind every product is a story that goes back to Provence techniques, traditional standards and sustainable development programs.

Even before L’OCCITANE’s success, the company also instilled social responsibility. Its main purpose is to respect man and environment through trade and sharing. L’OCCITANE started in Burkina Faso a sustainable development program in shea butter on 1989. During 1997, L’OCCITANE is the first to introduce to the world a Braille product labeling for the blind. They were the first ones to establish a large organic plantation in Corsica to preserve the Corsican maquis in 2006.

Its line of product also gathered rave reviews and supporters with various awards. L’OCCITANE received from AFB an Access Award for its efforts to pursue Braille labeling in their products in 2000.  Its dedication to helping the visually impaired also earned them an award from the American Foundation for the Blind in October 2008. Helen Keller award is given to those who promote the quality of life for those who are visually incapable. On that same year, L’OCCITANE also bagged the Grand Prix Parfum Award for 2008 for its Notre Flore Eau de Parfum collection. The Marie Claire French Award is given to 10 prestigious fragrance lines with unique packaging and scent. L’OCCITANE bagged the best fragrance in “free-standing retail store/ stand alone distribution network”.

L’OCCITANE cater to a lot of products ranging from skin care, fragrance, body and hands, bath and shower, hair care, men products and other botanical products for home use. Most of their product lines contain organic ingredients that are safe for your skin. Their ingredients are all natural and cultivated through organic farming techniques -- meaning, no pesticides, chemicals and other fertilizers.

L’OCCITANE also has their best-sellers that got most of their consumers wanting for more:

  • Shea Butter Hand Cream: Its a synergy of Shea butter, honey, sweet almond extract with the delicate fragrances of jasmine and ylang-ylang essences. Its smooth texture is pleasing to your senses and touch. It quickly absorbs, heals and protects dry and dull skin. Vitamin E nourishes skin and brings it to life.
  • Immortelle Divine Cream Moisturizer: It’s an anti-aging cream that fights off the signs of aging. Immortelle and Myrtle essence provides skin regeneration by collagen products and enhances microcirculation. It tightens skin contours, enhances firmness, brightens skin pigmentation and skin tone and evens out skin texture.

L’OCCITANE’s pursuit for quality living also brought about their success. Their success was owed to these three causes: looking back to its heritage, literacy, support for women in developing countries, pursuit for quality life in the visually impaired and preservation of traditional culture.
